Editorial Standards
The New York Courant
On accuracy
The paper reports from the public record and from inquiries of its own, its facts verified before publication. Articles are credited to their authors — whether an individual correspondent or one of the paper’s desks, such as the Data Desk or the Editorial Board — and are prepared with the aid of contemporary newsroom technology, automation among it, under the editorial authority of the publisher.
On error
Errors of fact, once established, are corrected without delay. Readers may report them to contactus@thenewyorkcourant.com.
On independence
The paper is sustained by its readers and its advertisers; its judgment is for sale to neither.
